Liberty Cannon previously reported on a machete attack on a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio that left four people injured with knife wounds. The attack was carried out by a Somali Muslim that appeared to have terrorist motivations.

The restaurant, Nazareth Mediterranean Cuisine, is owned by Hany Baransi, an Arab Christian from Israel.

After the attack, Baransi told Columbus media that he wanted to close the business and leave the country. His wife, however, is trying to persuade him from leaving at this time. In the meantime, staff will the restaurant will reopen at 11 a.m. on Friday and will stay open until a decision is made. Baransi said he plans to remain at home.

Baransi explained to the Columbus Dispatch that he feels the incident is being ignored. He fears for his safety and feels that law enforcement are ignoring his concerns.

“I need some time,” Baransi said outside the restaurant on 5239 N. Hamilton Road. “I want to come back for my people but something’s bothering me, I don’t know what it is. There’s a lot of things to deal with.”

Four people were injured in the attack. The suspect, Mohamed Barry, was later shot and killed by police.

One thing is whether his wife and employees will be safe. Could another attack happen?

“I’m concerned of putting them at risk,” he said.

Earlier news reports quoted him saying he was leaving for Israel.

“My wife told me to use my head, not my heart, and I always listen to my wife,” he said. “We’ll take it day by day.”

If someone like Hany Baransi is afraid to operate a business simply because of his faith, what kind of country has America become?
