A man with a machete attacked an Ohio restaurant on Thursday. Several people were injured before the attacker was killed by police.
From CNN:
“(He) immediately began swinging a machete at customers and employees inside,” Columbus police Sgt. Rich Weiner said. “There was no rhyme or reason as to who he was going after as soon as he walked in, according to some of the witnesses.”
Police have tentatively identified the suspect but would not reveal his name or age.”
The attacker was the only one killed and was not known by anyone inside the restaurant before the attack.
The restaurant is Nazareth Mediterranean Cuisine of Columbus Ohio. Nazareth is owned by Hany Baransi, who is an Israeli and Christian. Baransi believes his restaurant was attacked because he’s an Arab Christian.
The Suspect’s name is Mohamed Barry, a Somali. He may have traveled to Dubai in 2012, CBS reports. The FBI is investigating the incident as a “lone wolf” attack as well as a hate crime.
How many “lone wolf” attacks will occur on our soil before we actually realize packs of terrorists are among us?
